1700 calories a day for 250 is WAYYY too fucking low
I dropped from 190 to 175 going from 3300 to 2700 calories roughly
you don't want to drop your calories to poverty level because eventually fat loss will stall and thats when you start playing cards like lowering calories, adding cardio, etc to keep the train rolling
if you start off at baby calories and your fat loss stalls (which it will) then what do you do? at 250 lbs if you're gymming 4-5 times a week I'd start off at 2950 calories on days you lift and 2600 days you don't, if you're not going to lift at all then just go 2600 every day and when you stop losing weight cut out another 100-200 calories, add cardio etc. good luck

Update after 6 days of counting.

I feel good, might be imagining but think I've dropped ~1.5-2 lbs.
Can't check though as my scale is broken :(

My average calorie intake this week has been 1925.

You should be dropping a lot more weight than that if you weigh 250 and only lost a pound and a half in a week, especially if your calories are at 1900.

Try eating small meals a lot to keep your metabolism going, but consistent calorie intake. After not doing anything for so long your metabolism probably suffered a bit

My scale was broken.
Went to the doctor, weighed a lot more than I thought. 265 lbs, been gaining lots of weight because of a medicin that I take.

But plan on stopping with that and today Ill start a 6 week diet with my family from a book my mum got, "13 lbs in 6 weeks".
I feel as if it will be easier to keep to the diet when my entire family is eating the same (except for my sister, but she works out 10 times / week)
