no cross fit is useless to me

When I woke up this morning i was sore from the workout

i dont have trouble moving my leg in full range of motion but it feels like theres some pressure... I think I got a ligament sprain but im probably going to go to the doc tomorrow because I just wanna be safe

E: I've been icing my knee which has been helping a lot as of right now actually

icing will help for the first day or two, after use heat and mobilize it without weight

I have something sorta like this, it sounds like cartilage in my knee cracking... It hurts for about 10-15 seconds after it cracks and then it's gone

Any idea? I play basketball a lot and I'm always running/jumping around.

No. No. No. No. No. No. No.

Heat promotes swelling, really the only reason anyone should ever use heat is in attempts to relax muscle spasms. Ice > Heat in almost every circumstance.

Isn't the swelling nature's response to healing itself?

Honestly, I would get it checked by a professional. The cracking sensation - is it similar to the noise and feeling from cracking your knuckles or does it feel like your knee is "catching" on itself when you extend it?

If it's the latter, I would definitely recommend seeing your doctor and getting an opinion there. Had that feeling after an incident at work a year ago and it turned out to be a meniscus tear. Get checked to be safe, imo.

inflammatory phase is over after first 2-3 days, cytokine release is halted and swelling is not being induced. heat will improve blood flow/tissue pliability in the area which will provide oxygen and aminos to the injured tissue.

Ye sounds like you stressed the ligament but should be np in terms of recovery, just avoid legs for a week then go easy for the next week or two.

Possibly a small meniscus tear. Have a doctor look at your knee and check for ACL stability.
