sometimes people will refer to hypoglycemia as type 3, even though it technically isn't a form of diabetes.

and if OP does happen to be hypoglycemic, eat some complex carbs before you exercise (sweet potatoes, brown rice, whole wheat bread, etc)

or if you don't have complex carbs at hand, eat anything with carbs and some nuts or peanut butter

It depends what you consider an "insulin spike", to put it simply any food you are consuming will increase insulin activity; however this is dose dependent on the amount of CHO/PRO/FAT consumed and varies upon macronutrient composition. Insulin response to a tsp of honey won't have a profound effect on your weight-loss goals. Ideally though I would recommend skipping the tea/honey and just taking a 200mg caffeine tab.

you're right, it won't have a profound effect on your weight-loss goals. only hard work and healthy eating habits have a profound effect on weight-loss.

you're suggesting 200 mg of caffeine for 'fat burning effects'. that's an opinion and also doesn't have 'profound' effects on weight-loss. another opinion, would be consuming an organic honey or other natural substances over caffeine and other drugs.

i'd rather not consume stimulants everyday of my life, but that's my business.

a caloric deficit has a profound effect on weight-loss, not "healthy" food or "hard" work. they are usually just expedient for a caloric deficit.
not to mention that he never said that coffein has a profound effect on weight-loss. it was probably just meant as a booster.
