explain,

you're disagreeing with the view points on sugar?
and it's addiction.

In excess anything is bad which should be obvious but not to the extreme the vid makes it out to be. There's a pretty obvious bias to the vid, I mean they even say energy balance doesn't work which is demonstrably false.

I googled the opposite and came up with tenfold amounts of the opposite opinion with as much scientific data and credible sources

guess it's a good debate amongst the well educated

Since I have time to cook, I've found that I like the food I can make when I start with base ingredients. To me, its much more enjoyable to go and buy things in their **natural forms and see what I can make from there. In that sense, I tend to think of healthy, clean, or natural as generally meaning the same thing.

By doing that, I tend to eat healthier, and there is so much more variety in my meals.

I'm not going to go nuts and be like, 'o, i'm never eating ___ again', but I figure if I give myself a 90% **natural / 10% whatever else, I'll stick with it. If I go out with a group to a place that has great cheesecake or something like that, I'm not going to be like - o no, if I eat it, this one slice of cheesecake is going to end my life.

as I have seen these come up:

1) For those who want to say "healthy" or "clean" eating is pointless, it can go 'round and 'round all day - yes, calories in vs calories out determines weight loss or weight gain, but there are more aspects to health than solely weight.

2) For those who like to say cost is an issue, which I see a lot of ("o no, eating 'healthy' is expensive") - if you shop around, preparing your own food can be more cost effective than eating quick "dirty" meals. For example, I can regularly buy fresh salmon from an Asian market for like $4/lb depending on the cut, and the vegetables are like $0.30-$2.00 a lb depending on what it is. If I have the choice of eating a Big Mac meal with fries vs homemade blackened salmon, roasted root vegetables, and greens, I know what I'm going to pick (and both will cost like $5ish).

**when I say 'natural', I'm talking something that I can recognize where it came from by looking at it - being a GMO, or containing pesticides, hormones, antibiotics, etc is something I don't even want to begin to get in to. Example - a cut of meat or a vegetables is 'natural' - I can tell where it came from (something that had a face or grew directly from something). A poptart is not 'natural' by this working definition - I have no damn clue what goes in to a smores poptart, no matter how delicious it is lol.

I think of it more like that whole correlation-causation bit... sugar is just in everything, and so it takes the blame. It might be addictive and unnecessary, but yeah, it isn't made by satan.

Also, I am not a big fan of processed food in general. They're literally stripped of every nutrient possible, loaded with fillers, chemicals, sweeteners, artificial flavors as well of preservatives and because of price and taste, they are popular and available everywhere.

While you could get fat by eating lots of healthier choice foods like fruits and organic meat and so on, it is probably a lot less likely. The people who eat 'better' or 'cleaner' diets are probably more mindful of what and how much they are putting in their bodies.
