I couldn't do it, the atmosphere of the gym helps my workout, knowing ppl might be mirin > actually liftin weights
very nice gym for a home gym to say the least tho
To be honest I'm the opposite, I get more motivated solo. Being able to blast whatever music I want, workout in whatever I want and the equipment is never in use (unless my roomy is in there, which is seldom the case).

Frankly all you need in a gym is:
- A squat rack that has handles for pullups (or just buy one of those things you put in the door frame do to pullups)
- A bench press
- Weights (dumbbells and plates)
- An actual olympic 45lbs bar.
You can add your punching bag in there too.
That's really it. And you can get fkin massive doing that shit.
Yes you're right, it's been a slow process adding everything and its gone from the necessary items to turning it into my own little man cave gym lol.
If you look at the recent photo you'll see the Olympic bar on the weight tree, made a huge difference once we picked those up.
Also, with the punching bag, it's a 12 in one station. On the other side you can see it has a back rest/arm rest to do leg raises/dips/etc. as well as pull up handles at the top (will get better photos up this weekend).
But yes, we do have one of those door pull up bars, love it (prefer it over the boxing station tbh).

im almost wanting to invest in one very soon, make it easier than going to the gym, especially if i want to go when it is closed
only thing i would add is a dip bar too..
I would highly advice in investing dude. If you slowly acquire used weights you'll be able to re-sell for the same value if not more plus save on costs of gym membership/travel. Also hugely motivating having a gym next to your bedroom.
As stated above the boxing rig has a spot for dips, check it here:

How much did you invest in your entire gym?
I wanna get some actual adjustable dumbells like the bowflex ones or something similar as well as safety bars for squatting but for now I'm happy with what I've got
As of right now, post dumbbells, I'd say we've spent about $2500. That cost could've easily been less had we stuck with used gear (everything but this recent pickup was purchased new) as well as having nearly $500 in flooring alone which wasnt really necessary (said fuck it lets do the whole room).
You're right to stick to used, although for adjustable dumbbells I'd suggest checking out PowerBlocks. They've got several different versions varying in quality, and all have stages 1-3 which can be upgraded at any time (stage 1 5-50, stage 2 55-90 and stage 3 95-120).

What's it like being both simultaneously the biggest and smallest guy in your gym?
Lmao, never thought about that. Not gonna lie I love it, never have to concern myself with other people, if I don't feel like cleaning up after a heavy workout I don't have to worry about it, etc.
