Then you're not doing the right program...

I've been lifting for about 10 months straight and my back is kind of fucked up I'm only 16. I think I should go at a steady pace. Unless I should REALLY bump up 5 lbs every other day

5lb per workout

e/ squats theoretically should be giong up 15lb/week all other 5-10lb depending if you hit them once or twice that week

how long do you think you can increase your squats by 15 lbs a week?

unless you're lowballing the fuck out of yourself when you start it's not realistic to think you can add 60 lbs to your squat each month

My thoughts exactly dude. Stuck between 5 lbs per workout and 5 lbs a week. Always have heard 5/week

It's supposed to be a complete novice program. Most likely sustainable for months until you stop getting the noob gains and then you'd have to transition to a more advanced type of periodization.

5x5 like starting strength and stronglift are 5lb/workouts.

What are your lifts atm?

I weigh 150 and my max bench is around 200 maybe a little more now. Squat is probably 250, haven't done that yet. DL is 280.

The weight I'm using for the program I started off with
Bench - 125
Squat - 155
Barbel Row - 115
OHP - 85
And DL I started with 225. This is the last day of the first week of the program. I just started it monday

If I could go back in time, and start lifting when I was 16.. I'd be very boring, and do 5/3/1 and just stay consistent with my workouts. Slower pace, but I feel it is easier on your CNS, so recovery isn't as big a factor. If you stick with the program, you will add a great amount of weight to your lifts over time.

However you do have eh numbers. You could do 3x5 for ~2 months, then start 5/3/1 and be good to go.

just imo

What about 5x5? and bump up 5 pounds per lift each workout. I think I could do that. I'm starting with pretty small numbers and just bang that out until it's overwhelming
