First of all, motherfucking prednisone bro. I know the feels. I literally just got off of it yesterday and I have been on it way too many times in my life.

I myself always gain weight on prednisone. When I am on it, all I think about is food. I can seriously eat and eat and eat. My appetite is increased 100x what it usually is. Now that I am off prednisone, I seriously have to force myself to eat and it is a struggle to get 1500 calories a day, but when on prednisone, I could easily get 3k-4k calories without even trying.

My face always swells up with prednisone and I look like a chipmunk. My abdomen and love handles always come out of nowhere with the prednisone as well.

To everyone giving him shit about just saying steroids, I always say steroid when I talk about taking prednisone. Wouldn't it make you guys the jackasses for assuming stuff, not him?

lol

It's mind blowing the amount of negative side effects you receive from the one thing that helps make you get better.

Yea dude you know exactly 100% what im talking about.. it was prednisdone. his asmtha is fine now but those side effects are crazy. Did you get cushings from it or do you just put on fat in those areas the most?

you think the plasma dose of inhaled corticosteroids is similar to an oral dose of prednisone? im no doctor but i wouldnt expect cushing syndrome from an inhaler unless used in crazy excess

I could be wrong, but I wasn't aware there was much of a difference.

Yeah, the prednisone is an amazing medicine in the fact that it will basically heal whatever you are having a problem with, but it gives you about 100 other problems hahaha.

I become moody, acne, sweat in 40 degrees, appetite increase, immune system blows so I get sick all the time and take twice as long to heal, etc.

I gain weight in my cheeks, abdomen, love handles, and I get a little puffy in the pecs. My doctor has never even mentioned cushings, but always talks about how it is normal for people to gain weight on prednisone when I go in for a check up and my weight has gone up.

apparently there are some case studies of cushing syndrome as a result of inhaled corticosteroid use but from what i gather it is extremely rare and probably occurs in perfect storm scenarios

typically inhaled doses have lower bioavailability than oral doses though

e: also cushings SYNDROME is a collection of signs and symptoms that seem like cushings DISEASE at first but the root cause isnt the same. you get cushings SYNDROME from extended corticosteroid use, cushings disease is a separate thing
