well, really you should prepare to deal with a family physician regarding this...
information you would discuss would be things like sleeping habits, drugs you have tried (and any successes/failures/adverse events like a possible hangover effect I am guessing from the Benadryl lol) and any conditions/allergies/history of your insomnia.

it is a pretty common issue and there are tons of drugs to look into based on your preferences (how long do you need to sleep, your occupation (being tired the next morning could be dangerous), your lifestyle, your family choices, any other coexisting conditions which could be treated (IE treating depression and insomnia with trazodone or anxiety + insomnia with a benzodiazepine) etc.

there are a million different details to identify the best treatment, but some common ones include:
Ambien
Lunesta or Imovane
Benzos
Trazodone
etc.

He could smoke a fucking bowl of an indica before bed and stop bitching.
He'd wake up more refreshed than with the residual metabolites of benadryl lingering in his bloodstream making him groggier and not even putting him to sleep.
non - habit forming as compared to benzos and pills.

How about you go buy from a dealer that sells to clubs?
A lot cheaper + same quality - # of choices you have.

Well yeah and it just has a plethora of benefits
More importantly for us, it cannabis inhibits normal NE induced release of melatonin from the pineal gland. So supplementing with it can help mitigate a lot of that issue, which should increase REM sleep time back to normal (cannabis impedes rem sleep a bit)
