Roughly 30 sets/week for back

are you cutting or bulking right now?

Why no deadlifts?

why no deadlifts at all, or why no deadlift on back day?

Pure hypertrophy routine, too taxing for marginal gains.

I've actually recently stopped deadlifting as well. I feel that it completely drained me and didn't allow me to perform to my fullest on my days proceeding it.

You may actually have a fair thesis... IRL friend with the widest lats by far of the gang (really no contest) never deadlifts :L

but them deads train your entire body... I don't get that much weaker after deads..

if I do pull ups first I do 3-4 sets of 12 reps

if I do heavy deads before pullups I still do 3-4 sets of 8-10 reps not that much difference

You're thinking periodically. Start thinking aggregate.

For the moment I do back pretty much everyday but not that many reps.

Warming up with about 60reps of rubberband facepulls every workout.
Doing olympic pulls (around 40reps/workout) 6 times/week.
Doing weighted chins & hyperextensions (around 30-60reps each) 3 times/week.

I will probably have a heartattack the day my chest catches up to my back.

When I competed in powerlifting I really liked doing really heavy rows (both bb & db) after deadlifts and holy shit my back got so much thicker with only those things.
