1. Coming to lift with powerlifters who have been lifting for 10-20 times longer than I have and are EXTREMELY intelligent in all aspects of life.
2. Seeing the improvements in all aspects of life. Higher self-esteem, functional strength, and stronger determination just to name a few.
3. Deadlifts. Nothing impresses me more than seeing people pull 3-4x bodyweight.
4. I haven't had a major obstacle yet. However, I did lift last summer without a barbell (only a smith machine) and was still able to maintain/progress slightly by doing half deadlifts and shitty squats on it.
5. Stick with it. Results don't come quick or easy. Also, if you aren't improving then try sleeping and eating more.
