happened to me before ( dropped a can of paint on my foot..) i just removed the remaining part of the toe nail and did nothing else.
everything went fine

This is a fate worse than death. I'm horrified at the thought of losing a nail. The sad, shriveled, empty nail bed is abhorrent beyond my descriptive capabilities.

One of my employees lost a nail throwing a shot put or something and I can't look at his finger without wanting to euthanize one of us.

Did this to a finger nail. Stopped hurting after a week or two. I just let it hang there and taped it up when I did things that I figured it would get caught on etc. Eventually, the new nail works its way in and the old one doesn't hurt anymore. Then it just kind of falls off.

Just make sure you keep it clean OP

Dropped a pallet on my foot, toenail hanging 3/4 off, toe full of blood, jab a needle in my toe to let blood spray in bath tub, rip toe nail off, proceed to have 9 toe nails for a couple months
