Bump. Still not really sure on what the routine should consist of. How many lifts per day, which lifts to do, etc.

Found a gym that is $10 a month. Wew.

idk you are switching between PPL and now phat. not sure what you're looking for.

Well I thought PPL would be the best thing to do, since I was ding a 5 day split before and people said that was a dumb thing to do. But then Lightman suggested Phat in this thread.

I'm not really sure what routine is optimal for what I am looking for. After reading the article on phat, layne norton makes it sound pretty fantastic.

I am looking for a routine that gives me strength with my legs and back, as I feel that the legs and back are used most often in a scenario in life where you actually have to lift shit. I of course want them to look great, but I want to be able to use my training in real life situations, so I want functional use over aesthetics for them. Moving mulch bags, carrying shit/people, whatever.

I don't feel like you really have many opportunities in life to press stuff, except maybe overhead, but with the shoulder injury that I had, I don't really want to do strength on shoulders. So that leads me to hypertrophy for my chest/shoulders.

If you have any suggestions on what routine would be best for that, then I would love to check it out. Not sure if that is phat, p/p/l, or something else. P/p/l you can tailor it to your needs, which is why i said that in the first post.

Both are great routines imo. Either one is customizeable to your specific goals.

Suggestions on a certain ppl routine? I feel like it would be a little less complex start back to lifting.
