what they said has absolutely no bearing in truth. the only difference between liquid and tablet formulations might be a small decrease in absorption time and a very very slight increase in bioavailability (if at all)

thank you sir for the legitimate answer

If you really want to get serious about your nutrition/vitamins, how about you actually eat a balanced diet that provides all said vitamins in a multivitamin?

smh...

so you are telling me you get 100% of every vitamin and mineral needed daily through just your diet? good one.

It's honestly not hard to do if you eat any significant amount of food. A multi isn't even necessary unless you're deficient in many micros.

synthetic vs non-synthetic compounds is irrelevant.

Can't lie I remember reading it here in HnF, so obviously not a good source, but I remember reading about some products being pulled from shelves due to some of their synthetic substitutes being unabsorbable by our bodies.

I've never been huge on vitamins so I didn't look into it more, but was that just complete nonsense?

thats a matter of stereoisomerism but this is an unavoidable phenomenon in chemistry. basically the same molecule can be arranged in 3d space several different ways based on points of chirality. it just so happens that of the 8 possible enantiomers from 3 chiral carbons of vit E, only a few have decent bioavailability and are thus relevant in our bodies

No, right now I don't have the funds or resources for organic fruits and veggies.

I only take a multi after a drinking night (because thiamine levels decrease after drinking).

But ideally you'll get all your vitamins from veggies/fruits.

This is actually not true in the US. Most of the foods we eat are GMO and/or incredibly processed, unless they say otherwise. GMOs often have less nutrients than their non-GMO counterparts. In other countries it's very much possible to get your daily intake of vitamins and minerals, but in the US a multivitamin supplement is recommended because of GMOs and the amount of processing our foods go through.

Also, dependent on personal absorption/digestion rates, taking a multivitamin can help supplement what your body flushes out too rapidly.

Even when I'm on an incredibly balanced diet I still take multis just to make sure I get everything I need.

Lol who told you all of that? Your friendly local supplement shop sales rep? Do you even know what GMO means? Do you know what physiologically/clinically relevant differences are? Assuming I'm talking to a young male interested in building muscle mass (as indicated by the title of this forum) prove me wrong by getting some blood tests that indicate multiple deficiencies while on a 3k+ kcal diet. Most people here don't need supplementation and are surely wasting money, if you're some 130 lb girl on a 1000 kcal diet then yeah I'd say you need some added micros.
