There are tons of different stimuli for it. Music can definitely be one. It's a little bit unexplainable but if you've ever felt it before you'd definitely recognize a description of it. It's like a pins and needles, tingly feeling inside of the top of your skull and sometimes down your neck and spine, usually triggered by gentle touching, soft sounds or speaking, watching someone perform a fine motor task, etc etc. I feel ASMR when I get haircuts, when people tell me stories or talk to me without me having to respond much, watching people play instruments and such. I remember loving the feeling as a kid and I thought it was normal so I didn't pay much attention to it but it's interesting to note that only a portion of the population reports it. I wanna see where the research behind it heads, it's starting to get some notice by neuroscientists.
