I rest until I feel ready to do my next set. Can range from 33 seconds, to 47 seconds maybe even 1 minute and 19 seconds.

60-90 second is way too little imo.

Long ass motherfucking breaks >

Not if your goal is pure mass
long ass rests can attenuate metabolic stress

hitting failure with lower weights (aka very high volume, like your buddies) is less taxing on your cns than hitting failure repeatedly with heavy weights, thats why they rest less and lift less

60 seconds is best for hypertrophy and building overall muscle mass.

That's a variation of HIT, popularized by Mike Mentzer.  You don't have the workload capacity to make workouts like that effective.  Just stick to a 60-90 sec rest period.

Yup. I tried somethiong like HIT when I was bodybuilding and I didn't like it (at all). I thought it would help me out because I was playing sports, but it was the opposite of helpful. I needed more rest, not less.

On the topic question I don't train for mass (just for maintenance) and I shift my rest times fairly often because I go between athletic training (funcational stuff) and lifting, but no bulking. So I wouldn't recommend my shorter rest periods to anyone looking to make big gains.
