i eat 4 hardboiled eggs in the morning, then a deli sandwich a few hours later, oatmeal and a protein shake before workout, protein shake after workout with random dinner, which i do my best to make high in protein.  snack sometimes in between those.

You're going to have to eat a little more than that if you're looking for some size.
I wont tell you what to eat because I know what works for my body and I don't want to lead you the wrong way in that field.

And I'd suggest looking up Rippetoes or Madcows starting strength, that's basically what everyone will tell you.
If you need to look up how to do an exercise use this website and stick to correct form. Form > weight

this thread is confusing, can anyone shed some light on this strategy? which muscles can i work out together, which level do i use, and do i use the same level for all the workouts? is 60 seconds between sets that critical to where i need to count down each set?

this is why i loved p90x, people make lifting sound so complicated, and p90x you just follow verbatim. its mindless

edit: as far as my diet, its something that im working on and trying to improve every day. i am constantly tweaking it and adding meals in general.

edit2: ive also been looking at this, wondering people's opinions on it: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/best_newbie_workout.htm

ur best bet is to start here

http://www.bodybuilding.com/exercises/

then

Meal 1
6 egg whites, 1 yolk, 1 slice low fat cheese, 3oz oats, 1 banana, 1 cup of low fat milk, 1 scoop whey protein powder.

Meal 2
5oz tuna in water, 1 whole wheat bagel, 1 tablespoon low fat mayo, lettuce and tomato.

Meal 3
8oz grilled chicken breast, 1 baked potato, 2 cups salad, olive oil dressing.

Meal 4
Sandwich with 4oz turkey breast, 2 slices whole wheat toast, 2 slices low fat cheese and tomato. 1 cup of low fat milk or a yogurt.

Meal 5
6oz grilled steak, 1.5 cups brown rice, 2 cups salad or vegetables.

Meal 6
6oz cottage cheese, half cup almonds, 1 scoop whey protein.

Follow the above bodybuilding diet plan and remember, as you grow bigger, make sure you eat more calories!

That's a rubbish plan for our case here.

He needs more carbs to recover from either basic lifting or fullbody days.
He will have very little hypertrophy during first 2-3months and therefore proteins are in utopic amounts.
