Anyone moving more towards body-weight stuff as you get old?
Sometimes I wonder why I am repping sets with 70lbs + attached to me doing dips and pullups. Why not just body-weight or maybe 25-30lbs attached. East Asian's have decent life expectancy, and more importantly, move better on average into their later life. No point in living to 84 if you're crippled as fuck. They predominantly do body-weight exercises, and diet keeps cardiovascular disease and other issues at far lower rates and us North American fat fucks.
Its just so hard to fully let go of lifting heavy shit. All that effort put in over a decade and more to just let it fade. I cant seem to fully give it up.
I really enjoy kettlebells and strong vinyasa yoga but I cant make the full leap of just those and BWF, and at the same time, I cant just tone back lifting, I am not going to just sit there doing 315 when I know I can toss around 600.
Mid-life lifting crisis.
