What about tofu? Is it an inferior source of protein compared to other kinds?

Tofu is soy

To say it's inferior is an understatement

Soy contains phytoestrogens that disrupt the function of your natural hormones, it's very bad for men, but not as bad for women to my knowledge

I see.

I like tofu mainly for the convenience factor. With most proteins, you have to prepare them by cooking, which I hate. Tofu can be eaten as it is, which I really like.

Maybe I will just order some fried chicken.

In your case, and from your other post, I'd say it would be good for you and your lifestyle.

For you as a woman the hormone disrupting effect may be neglible, and soy protein is certainly better than no protein. I always recommend that people eat what they like for sustainability - it's a fools errand to eat a different protein source that you don't like, because you'll soon stop.

If it works for you go for it - all protein is thermogenic, soy or not, so it will also aid in weight loss in combination with resistance training. And keep you satiated longer.
