33 grams of protein per 2 hours is roughly the limit to a body that hasn't engaged in physical activity prior. 1 gram of protein per 1lb of muscle daily is needed for muscle maintenance as well.

studies have shown benefits up to .8g protein per lb of bodyweight per day for muscle gain. however, the more efficient your muscles become, the less protein you need.
