It's been probably a good 2 years since I have taken protein powder. I get that you recover faster, but now that I am looking into brands I see that there are so many proteins and so many different manufacturers. I'm like where the fuck do I start?

My question is, with so many additives to these powders, and not being approved by the FDA, blah blah blah, has anyone had any negative experience while taking a protein powder? I want to start taking it again to recover quicker, but I have no idea where to start. Would some of you please mind sharing what you take and have had success with?

You don't recover faster because of protein powder.

There is absolutely no reason to even use it unless you have a deficiency in your diet or you need if for convenience (the case for most people).

So you may not need it at all. Might just be a waste. I'd reassess why you need it.

When you say convenience, are you talking about the 1G per pound that one is? If that is the case, there is no way that I have reached that number lol

That number is just fiction, marketing for people to buy it.

Some good advice in this topic. Athletes and body builders be damned. Just need to eat 18 pbj's a day and you'll be golden

Get Kaizen whey isolate from costco. Great value and no artificials.

It’s protein... Not a SARM.

It’s not FDA approved because it’s not a drug.. It’s protein, find one and use it if you want. Or just eat more protein.

Go ahead, list the benefits of using protein powder vs eating real food unless the issue is time.

Most studies have concluded that 0.6-0.9 gram per lb is sufficient for a competitive athlete and much less for a recreational exerciser. Most bodybuilder are pushing a brand for sales and endorsements.

Athletes at least at the collage / university level (going with what I am familiar with) do not use it. They have a regimented eating schedule.

There is some articles that suggest 2.2 G per KG (1g per pound) can be advantageous for elite level bodybuilders. Do you think the OP is competing for the Olympia or has that type of muscle mass. I don't think so.

'Athletes' 100% ofc use it. I remember walking around Texas state (small college) when I was a younger lad and seeing the literal muscle milk dispensaries all over the football players cafeteria.

Buddy I have worked out with a FB player from who currently plays outside lber at Ole Miss few weeks ago. He was telling him how crazy their cafeteria set up was, and all the different brands of protein they had available. On top of the crazy amount of cooked food available obviously.

The benefits are you aren't retarded and aren't trying to eat 4 steaks and 5 cans of tuna a day. But you're probably right, it's likely an elaborate Pyramid scheme cooked up by the evil minds at a secret shadow meeting held at the first ever gnc

Do you have reading a comprehension problem. I said the only benefit is convenience which you just reiterated and agreed with.

There is no benefit to it other than that over eating food. I am sorry you're a manlet who cant stomach four basic meals a day. At 200 lbs and not an elite level body builder 150g is more than enough. If you cant get 600 calories out of likely the 3,000 to 3,500 (if were using a 200 lb person) you eat daily you have awful portion control and meal selection.
