I'm thinking about https://uk.bodybuilding.com/store/optimum/platinum-pre.html

I'm using their protein and they're pretty good.

This is also creatine free so there arent particular side effect.

good little energy blend there, some thermo too.

creatine is life, but i wouldn't recommend getting it in a blend. creatine should be taken separately, ideally with a serving of CHO for way better absorption. if you aren't aware, creatine malate and mag cre chelate are more likely to not cause side effects (bloating/wet poops), whereas the monos (hydr/phosph) tend to be more problematic.

i DEFINITELY recommend pre, even though many folks say to take it post.

on curse vs ON platinum: curse has beta arginine, whereas ON uses beet juice. same basic ingredient but you'll feel the pump more with curse. both have citrulline & b-alanine, if i recall correctly. b-alanine is well-researched and it affects performance; citrulline will get your heart going. curse contains a proprietary dosage of creatine which i wouldn't even count in my intake. ON uses a bit of hot pepper extract to add to the melt, and both have caffeine.

^ just to clarify the difference if anyone was curious.

edit: oh yeah, ON protein is top dog protein, good choice there.

It's good. They mix quality and flavour well above the norm. They aren't the ONLY great protein company out there. It's just that they're probably the most popular really good company. I sometimes try other brands but I always go back. At least for the last decade or so.

When I started lifting back in the late 80s & early 90s, almost all protein powders were terrible tasting. Quality was hit-and-miss, mostly concentrates, albumin, that type of stuff. No ultra filtering, no isolate, etc..
