I figure most people who have been training a while and made progress have certain things they do which are unique to their program or perspective.

Doing everything so you never get good at anything.
Aka doing weightlifting, powerlifting, calisthenics and some bodybuilding

this mixing it up is pivotal when it comes to gains, don't forget resistance bands. I like to mix in resistance bands every day just for something different to confuse the muscles.

also this, research and ask people that are clearly successful what lifts they recommend and advise against. depends on yourself as well if you have bad knees look into alternatives than squats or things like that are hard on knees.

Consistency. Eating the exact same amount every day, exact same thing. Lifting the exact same weight, for the same amount of reps everyday. Ain't gonna get anywhere unless you're consistent.
