This has never happened to me before. But twice now in the past month I've woken up just to have my calf seize up into the tightest fucking rock hard flex. One of the most 'painful' things my body has ever done by itself.

edit i just got back from eating a banana and pounding a bunch of water. I did many calf raises on the steps and really got in there.
Am i going die

Yes you're going to die

Magnesium/potassium helps, lots of water. I always straight my leg and push my toes toward my head or "up" if that makes sense, like grab it with your hand if you can and stretch it the opposite way if the cramp. Hot shower to loosen muscle

I take taurine as well may help but kind of unrelated

i use to get these all the time... they would wake me up from sleeping like you said really bad pain i would have to get up and try to stand up on it...

they would hurt me so bad sometimes i could still feel pain from it 2-3 days later.. where it would stretch and pull my muscle so bad'

mine was from doing lots of climbing (tree trimming) 40 + hours a week.. either way i know what you are going through it definitely sucks

mine got so bad i went to the Dr and he prescribed me some muscle relaxers which i hardly take.. but if one does hit ill take one to keep from the pain lasting so long

it's just impossible to take muscle relaxers and try to lift kinda defeats the purpose there more of a last to case

i eat a banana every morning and take multi vitamins they seem to be helping some... but yesterday i was up in a tree for like 3 hours roping limbs away from the power lines.. sucky job but whatever... I guess i got dehydrated my hands was like drawing up together like something you would see from a excorcist movie.. legs are fine as of now though

Unless you also have severe muscle weakness, hypo or hyperreflexia, muscle atrophy or constant muscle fasciculations, no don't worry about it. Cramping after heavy exercise is very common.

ive gotten these a handful of times in the last few years.

try flexing your foot upwards (touching your toes to your shin) sort of speak

hurts a tad bit more initially but quickly gets rid of it

electrolytes (esp. magnesium) + water + rest = shouldn't persist

the word people have been looking for is dorsiflexion; that's what you need to do with your foot.

You were probably jerking and curled toes to much.

I sometimes get them really bad in the "tear" muscle near my knee.

Eating a small amount of salt straight helps me within 1-2
Minutes.
