having pain in my left knee to the point that i can barely bend it


if i lay on my back and try to bend at the knee its almost impossible to do it with how much pain it causes
anyone what what the problem could be?

i have tried applying heat and cold to it but it doesnt help

Could be several thing. Need more information.

Describe the characteristics of pain. Sharp? How does your skin look and feel? Any swelling?
When did it begin?
Where exactly does it hurt? Does the pain radiate anywhere else?
How long does it last? Is it a constant pain?
You say you can't bend it at all? Does it hurt to walk? Rate your pain right now from 0-10 0 being no pain to 10 being the worst pain you've ever felt
What makes it better or worse? Does pain medication help if you've tried any?
Do any other symptoms occur with it?

Once you answer all the questions go to the dr with your answers

My great grandfather was a doctor in Russia, from what he's taught me, it looks like amputation is your only viable option

I read a book about the early settlers arriving on the mainland but while they were out at sea, almost all lower limb injuries resulted in amputation
