Why do people use these...? I see people using them all the time doing squats...

I never use that crap... even if I'm doing rack squats at 495. Pads are for covering vaginal leaks, not shoulders from bars.

Today is cardio day.... training for some "first responder" obstacle race.

its really short, but I haven't done much "running" per say, lately.. all my cardio has consisted of stair climbing. Whole different beast

nn for squats, can be useful for some other shit where the bar presses on bone though, like hip thrusts if u do those

Many years ago, when I first performed the Barbell Squat, I began on the Smith machine. With a pad.
After a month of carefully increasing my load from 95lbs to 225lbs on the Smith machine, I decided to attempt the Barbell Squat in the cage!
After careful and gradual improvements in my Barbell Squat,
I removed the pad.

It felt really really weird without the pad, and my neck hurt. So, as a complete beginner, I used the proper safety precautions! Don't knock safety, bros.

i like the way the bar "sticks" to my skin so i've never used em. but if it helps someone out then more power to them.

that macho bullshit isn't helping anybody.
