Anyone know if these are good or bad? I got one in my ankle today because of a problem that has been going on for a few months.
It was a small dose, but I'm just curious if anyone knows more than me about these shots.

the person who knows more than u about these shots is probably the person who administered the shot. or if it was a nurse, then the doctor who prescribed it......

more or less, as far as i know, these shots mask the pain and the issue. sometimes its a good thing for temporary relief. but for the most part, unless u treat the cause of the issue, then it will just come back.

and repeated shots over time can do more damage than good, and weaken the area.

fine in acute use. long term effects of corticosteroids are pretty bad if you aren't careful but one shot will just reduce inflammation a little bit

Thanks for the input. Similar things to what I read looking it up, and this should be only a one time thing. Was a small amount too.

I'd love to help but I just don't understand - so please feel free to ask specific questions ;)

With regards to it being "good or bad" --> they're usually short term (unless you have a chronic problem such as arthritis) and they work within a day or two and help a lot of people with joint inflammation.

Are you concerned about the dose or long-term effects (such as to cartilage or ligaments?)

seems like a quick fix for a minor injury

I remember a couple Toronto Blue Jays players having them last season and being off 1-2 days

Yeah I was just concerned if it can affect me in any way short or long in a bad way.

I got cortisone shots in both knees, both wrists, and my right shoulder... I'll NEVER get them again. The caused a weird pressure for the first 2 days or so. Then it was amazing! Hardly any pain at all. Then when the pain comes back, it seems way worse than it was before because you now know what it feels like... to not feel that pain again. Fuck cortisone shots.

Normally I don't get these unless I need to and my ankle has been bothering me since February... And I've tried lot's of things, so I'm hoping this will help.
