So they're both early 50's and not overweight, but I think they would benefit a lot from weight training.

Mum currently just does cardio every day/ other day. Dad is pretty flat out with work and coaching etc.

Mum isn't too inclined to weight train, and if she did she wouldnt really be into a massive workout. So I'm wondering, can she get benefits from doing 1 upper and 1 lower workout a week? Or is that too infrequent for any substantial benefits?
Basically, not looking to build muscle, but to retain bone health and some other benefits.

I'd really focus on balance and flexibility with some strength/cardio aspects if possible.

well, technically itll be like once a week, if it was one upper and one lower .. so im thinking 2 full body days. Like dirtyman said, bodyweight / dumbbell and some impact stuff.

Tbh Ive gained a ton of flexibility just from lifting full rom.
Hopefully this will carry over to her through some of the exercises she can do.

Hard to train balance tho

For the gymworkouts focus on stability, balance and core training if they are not to keen with lifting.

Training will help a lot with cognitive functions aswell such as reactions, memories and attention and can also help prevent the risk for stuff like dementia and alzheimers.
I presented perks in cognitive functions for my parents rather than the physical ones, they reacted way more to increased mental health.
