To add onto #3, speak with your doctor, barbell squats shouldn't hurt your knees if done properly.
nope, just saw the video today, wasn't aware who he is :/
doctor recommended i do knee/leg strengthening exercises specifically because i added 20 years to my knee with a car accident, been a tad worried about screwing it up so i avoided barbell squats
