Is this something I need to fix?

On intensity days I know it happens way too much and it looks like a good morning.

Just tried it for my first set on volume day (keeping hips down and raising same speed ad upper back, it's much harder, felt like set 5 hard)

You should be driving with the hips but don't lead with them.

I understand the driving with the hips cue, but the squat is much harder keeping the hips and upper back rising at the same speed, is that normal, or due to muscular imbalances that will sort themselves out after squatting like this?

I'd say its often caused by a technique/focus problem rather than a muscle imbalance. I'd work on paused squat.

Pretty sure you are supposed to rise up evenly.

The problem you are describing, do you mean that you stick your butt back and up before rising? I've seen people do this...looks bad
