I notice when I work out abs, I just don't feel the burn everywhere

I keep my arms limp, legs limp, focus everything on my core, but the burn is only in my very upper abs and sometimes sides

i never get that middle ab burn. What gives

Assuming you are doing everything correctly, feeling the burn does not equal a good workout. Vice versa.

So if you are certain you are targeting the right muscles, there is no problem.

Not certain by any means haha

using a bench doing twisting crunches , I only feel the upper ab, when I use resistance bands and a door I get the same effect.

I'm making sure not to move my hips or use my shoulders but I feel like I'm not hitting the right muscles

I did 5 sets of 15 , door and bench, and I feel like I could just keep going

well assuming youre doing all crunching motions, it would seem easy to deduce that your upper abdominals are used more

i would try a different movement, maybe hanging leg raises would suit your fancy

there are more ab exercises than crunches

good luck

try to do a plank for 30 minutes and tell me only your upper abs burn
