So, that custom rack I've been waiting on since May? Ya. He messaged me tonight, saying that I would be better off buying one elsewhere as he wont have time any time soon to complete the work.

Long story short, I need a rack, cage style. (4 upright posts). Plate holders on the rack would be ideal. Decent safety's.

84" tall. In Canada. Either pickup as far as Toronto or London, or Kitchener Waterloo or Cambridge Ontario.

Budget is only about $750 incl tax, so like.. $665 ish pre tax.

Help.

Ya man. They ship as well, but my gas is way less than shipping. And it gives me a reason for a road trip to Toronto.

Come visit if you're heading to the finch location ^^

Fitness avenue has some great stuff, a lot of my gym's equip is from there.

I've owned this rack before, it's not bad, but to be honest you get what you pay for.

The unfortunate distance between the olympic bar holders + design makes it a bitch to re-rack the bar (it's literally got 1cm room to move, if you're off at all it's gonna be difficult).

Have had to drop the bar on a few heavy ass sets due to one of them moving sideways (can confirm the safety spotters work lmao).

Whatever you do don't get the cable cross-over attachment, it's a hunk of junk that takes up way too much space.

Its showing a width of only 45 inches. - I know the new version has a width of 50.
Olympic bar is 50.5". Should give me lots of room to play with.

One of which moving sideways?

Cable cross over attachment: hadn't planned on it.

Also, I will be near that location, but like fuck will my wife want to go with me to meet a "stranger from the Internet" lol

Ahh my apologies, this is actually the rack I had: http://www.fitnessavenue.ca/item.php?id=657

Clearly they got a lot of complaints, this is bolded on that page: (New model with reduced width from 50” to 48”)

You should be fine then, definitely better being less wide.

I was talking about these: http://www.fitnessavenue.ca/item.php?id=756

It's hard to tell from the pics, but you put it in sideways, then it swivels to fit in place. Unfortunately, one of the actual sides will ALWAYS be exposed, so if you nudge it at all, it starts to swivel on it's own.

Tbh since it's not as wide, you should be good (I personally just think that J-Hook system is retarded).

edit: And no worries lmao, was only half serious about the visit ^^

Instead of this, I may upgrade to this fucking beast:

Opinions?

I would just need to buy a new floor mat to fit the beast.

Probably my favorite rack there tbh, if I had the room I'd probably pick it up. They have a few others similar too.

Honestly, I'd go with a price frame in mind and knowledge you're buying a rack. Their store is literally a big showroom with all these racks set-up, you'll go in drooling and walk out happy.

Ya. Did some measuring last night. Wife will not let me take up another 5x7 of space in the basement lol, looks like it's the original.

But, that allows me to get 2 of these:

And one of these benches depending on how they feel in store:

I'm leaning more towards this one:

As well as some other new toys. I'll post some pics when it's all done.
