Resident athlete at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs for Weightlifting. I compete at the 56 kg weight class. Follow me @mLchaelfox I will be posting Snatch, Clean and Jerk, Back Squat, Front Squat, maybe even pulls. Also, may take some pictures of the environment around here and people, for example, I see Michael Phelps almost daily although I did hear he left this morning I assume to go to Toronto for the Pan Am Games.

I am very new to instagram but I do plan on updating frequently. The coach out here was an Olympic Champion, Zygmunt Smalcerz, has us go heavy pretty frequent so there should be some big lifts. Right now I am prepping for Nationals as it is the last qualifier for Worlds which will be in the United States this year. Last year I was ranked I believe 11th for the World team that competed in Almaty, Kazakhstan, only the top 8 males compete (taking 10 fully funded athletes two as alternates).

How many of you guys are on instagram with your lifting videos? Let me know an I'll follow you, unless you are inappropriate then I won't as I am a school teacher as well. I just get to train at the OTC for free during the summer.

Oh, if you have any questions please feel free to ask.

So... is that kind of like your "job?" Lift, eat, misc, sleep, repeat?

It has been awhile since I have posted, I still come on occasionally to see what other people are up to.

Yes, essentially that is what we do here that is productive, although recovery is a big part too, they have a recovery center with massages, sauna, steam room, ice bath, hot tub (to contrast).

In my opinion we have quite a bit of down time, and the volume of the training to me is not enough so I will go after training or before training to do extra work like squats, as I get closer to competition I will back off, but an example of the resident athlete schedule would be Monday-Saturday 8 am warm up which would be abs and dynamic stretching. lasts approximately 30 minutes. Monday Wednesday Friday we have 2 practices which are emphasized to do snatch and clean an jerk, we snatch in the mornings and clean an jerk in the evenings., one starts at 10:30 AM the other at 4 PM. Usually it goes from about 10:30 AM to 1PM and then 4PM to about 630 PM. Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday are main focus is the squat although we do the snatch an clean an jerk as well these are our longest practices usually from 10:30 AM to 2 PM sometimes a little later. So, as you can see we have a lot of down time, as the cafeteria makes all our food and we do not have much responsibilities other then lifting, recovering, and eating.

Although, this is only during the summer, I will move back to Kansas when the school year starts up as I have another job, but currently the only thing here I have to pay for is laundry soap.

Nice! What's your current total in comp? I lifted in the same gym as a couple guys who trained at the OTC for a short while, they said it was an amazing facility. Speaking of Pan Ams, I'm hyped as hell this year as I'll have a chance to watching some crazy lifts in person :D

Vardanian and Ford yes, Cooper is out at MDUSA. Although, I would mention Alex and Morghan too them two and Norik have helped me quite a bit with my lifts. ( Including Coach Kruz and Zygmunt)

242, I am hoping to hit 251 @ nationals as that will get me on the incentive program, along with making the World team, which is the last event to help us get more spots for the Olympics.
