I'm thinking about dropping the $100 to get a test done.

The website only interprets ancestry. IE whats % of your DNA hails from certain Ethnic/regional groups.

but they do give you your full raw genotype that you can translate on your own with a website like Genotation.org

Including Fun to know stuff like what type of recessive traits I have (Like can my kids have blonde hair/blue eyes even though i'm brown hair brown eyed.)

But it includes much more serious stuff like genes that indicate a higher risk for Heart disease or Alzheimer.

has anyone else had this done? If so did you check out the more serious side to the results?

never done it, but would also like to have it done.

gotta get the pros to interpret the results properly and you should be prepared to hear things which may sound scary... many people like in fear of certain health problems afterwards, but i think it is better to know and make lifestyle changes if you can take it

there are some things which would be 2spookie5me... like alzheimers or huntingtons which you cant do much about if you have it

Yeah, I would actually like to know about heart conditions, and adjust my lifestyle accordingly.

99% sure I wouldn't be at risk for Alzheimers because All of my grandparents have lived to 75++ without dementia. But I could see how that could be terrifying for people who may have someone in the family with it.

/E There are also some stories of people using it and finding out that their mom cheated on their dad :P

Because the site shows %DNA match with other people on the site, and if your dad isn't %50 then you have some bad new lol!
