like people switching foods but keeping their calories constant, under the logic of your body "adapting" to the foods you are consuming.

same goes for workouts - changing exercises and routines to shock the body with something it isn't used to

science or broscience?

idk about adapting to the food, or what you are specifically looking to accomplish?

but, varying what you eat can introduce a variety of micronutrients that might be missing in a fixed diet (and also have an influence on the intestinal microbiota)..every week i go to an oriental market and get things i haven't tried before, or whatever is on sale that particular week..i got rambutan to try this week and it actually is pretty good..its fun if you like food and trying different things

I'm just interested in the answer, that's all. I eat the same foods pretty much every day. If there is an actual benefit to swapping foods to avoid your body "adapting", then I would consider doing it somewhere down the line. But it does sound like broscience 101 to me

the benefit to swapping out foods is to break monotony.

the biggest change i'd do to my routine is if i was gonna cut hard, i'd stop strength training and cut my weights so i am not burnt out after 3 weeks
