I have been really thinking about trying it out. Im feeling a little iffy though due to the bacteria & pathogen risk.

I live in Michigan so it is illegal to sell here, but theres a semi-local organic dairy farm that does a herd-share that I am debating
on participating in. Only if they answer all my questions correctly when I go to take a tour of the farm. What I have read so far they seem
pretty legit as to their sanitary standards.

Copy and Pasted from the site:
" Our farm is inspected by the State of Michigan (MDA) regularly. We also send a sample of milk at the first of the month to check for E. coli 0157:H7, Listeria, and Campylobacter. We have never had a positive test of these pathogens. Cows are also tested weekly for mastitis and treated with herbs, homeopathy, tinctures, prayer and vitamins if she tests positive."

Just curious as to your guys experience with it.

Thanks!

how did people drink milk before pasteurization? Everyone died who drank milk before this process was discovered. 100 % mortality rate

milk, harmless?

I understand that the risk is quite low, but still it depends on sanitary standards of the farm.

If i go there and am impressed with their operation, getting sick will not really be a real big worry for me.

Then my worry is more whether the benefits of Raw Milk would outweigh the significant increase in my milk budget. (Investing in a herd-share is a commitment to long-term raw milk drinkage)

The fact that it is milk coming from a grazing, grass-fed cow alone has nutritional+ written all over it.

so what does the pasteurization process do that reduces the nutiritional+ of grazing, grass-fed cow milk?

You can get pasteurized, pasture raised, grass-fed cows milk. I'd suggest that over the raw form.
