It's generally quite good, but I think a few of his assumptions are not quite right. Something to think about.

Wearing Oly shoes or completely flat shoes when DLing all depends on your body and what you prefer. Oly shoes will help you build speed off the ground by initiating more of a leg drive, BUT the lockout is much harder and there is more ROM. My buddy prefers lifting in Oly shoes as he has a very strong lockout but is very slow of the ground.

It doesn't make a huge difference but even a small difference can make or break a good lift.

I have insane speed off the ground already so I wear as flat of shoes as possible to reduce the ROM and try to keep that speed through up to lockout.

OL shoes makes you use lowerback and quads in a deadlift just as in a clean(pull).

One reason most weightlifters have real strong erectors.

This is true to an extent. It really depends on your bone lengths and etc as well! Depending how you set up for your lift you could still get serious posterior chain activation in Oly shoes but it's just more likely that you'll be using erector spinae and quads instead.

Exactly why speed off the floor is much easier as your quads drive this movement primarily but lockout is harder since you don't have as much hip/glute activation when in Olys.
