Who uses gel to style hair? I've been thinking about it although my hairline recedes a little bit but I'm going to slick it all backwards like Ryan gosling

Use a pomade or wax for slicking back, you'll be able to fix it throughout the day and it won't be crusty

i usually rub coconut oil into my scalp/hair after taking a shower as my scalp tends to dry out and it is good for the scalp/hair..it serves double duty for that and for styling i guess
it holds it in place for both messy and slicked back looks, but doesn't get hard or crusty

Go with styling glue instead of Gel
Gel makes your hair look wet/greasy, glue does not.
