My ankle is not fully recovered but I'm going to play regardless of course.

I want to know what drugs will be best to keep my pain down.

What I planned to go with was 3 ibuprofen and a caffeine pill. I also have this other thing but I can't think of the name, it's like a strong ibuprofen.

Maybe hydrocodone/acetaminophen but I'm not sure how well that'd work for an ankle. And if it'd be too rough on my stomach to take it with a caffeine pill.

So any opinions? Stick with the 3 ibuprofen / caffeine pill?

There's your problem...athletes usually take an injection before the game, don't know if you have access to that.

I usually just pop 3 Advil gels. Especially before Ultimate Frisbee if my back is bothering me. I don't have an issue with energy levels usually unless I skipped some sleep the night before, so I rarely take caffeine.

Obvious answer is to not play, but if that's really not an option, then just play through the pain. If it's too painful then it's not worth it

i would NOT pop any hydro's before a game..

I'd just pop a few ibuprofen's and deal with the rest.

i destroyed my ankles when i was younger playing basketball with sprained ankles

i'd say you should let it rest, don't muscle through it.

You think a caffeine pill will be okay as well with some beta alanine? That and a few ibuprofen seems like it should do me a solid.

Idk, I don't like caffeine in higher doses, and if nothing else, i think the caffeine pill might give you anxiety and more aware of the pain.
