My moms a nurse and she is so stubborn when it comes to any health related situation and that she's always right . So anyways she sees how much eggs I eat only 4in the morning, and I've been trying to get my younger brother on my same breakfast and my mom is saying no it's bad to eat that amount of eggs cause of the sodium and cholesterol and will clogged up arteries after eating that amount or more for years . So I brought up how the best athletes and most healthy n fit people eat twice to 3 times amount of eggs. She also said those athletes or anyone who eats like that will have long term problems . Do eggs have long term problems ( not conferenced just wanna know if she's right ) and where's a good article on the nutrition of an egg? Want to prove her wrong. It's funny I eat more sodium througtout the day ( soy sauce , bacon, meats) yet all of my last doctors appointments my pulse and blood pressure have never been better, they'll make a comment saying u must exercise or be an athlete or been " eating correctly "

how many eggs do you eat for sodium to be a problem? iirc there's only around 70 cals and 70mg of sodium per. to exceed 2500 mg of sodium, you'd need to eat 36 eggs a day.

afaik there's no problem with eating a lot of eggs. i personally eat around 12 (two batches of 6) on days i eat eggs, though for a while i was eating around 20. i'm sure there are many studies with regards to the cholesterol. just google around.

Eggs somerthing perfect food 2:1 ratio good/bad cholesterol = no change in blood cholesterol levels or something, i used to eat a dozen a day

Got damn, this legitimately pisses me off

someone IN THE HEALTHCARE FIELD DOESN'T KNOW BASIC PHYSIOLOGY/BIOCHEMISTRY/NUTRITION. FUCK.

I had someone in work this past sunday going around saying (including to me), "Hey, did you know creatine is actually bad for you?" because his actual family doctor told him that.. said you would suffer kidney problems, and that it'll "harden" your muscles or something along those lines. Then went further to say that high protein diets as well (this dude is playing football, wants to gain muscle) are awful for your kidneys. I told the kid how fucking troglodytic and ignorant both him and his doctor were and that he needs to look into things for hisself. His response? Lolz, he's a doctor, of course I'm going to believe him. /facepalm. fuck credentials and fuck people in positions of influence propagating myths because they're too fucking lazy and intellectually challenged to open got damn google search or pubmed. Fuck all these people.

As for your actual egg comment, tell her to please open a fucking nutrition, biochemistry, or physiology textbook and learn the absolute basics of cholesterol and lipid absorption please. Please. Please.
