Really depends.
Just in an average scenario though, gastric emptying will take 2-6 hours. However, absorption is quite rapid as it occurs in the proximal aspects of the small intestine (aka right after emptied from the stomach). Most all of the carbs, proteins, and fats are absorbed within 30 mins of reaching the small intestine. To complete this, traversing the colon takes on average 12-72 hours, depending on a plethora of factors.
There's a lot of factors that influence gastric emptrying/digestion rate, however, such as: osmoreceptors and volume receptors of the chyme entering the sm intestine either increase or decrease gastric emptying, high fat foods, salt and monosaccharides also slow gastric emptying. Fiber a few free AAs also infuence the rate. In general high protein foods and high CHO foods will empty at around the same rate, fats being slower.
So, in average scenario, maybe an hour you can really start seeing some adequate protein/cho/lipid absorption and utilization? In a hypothetical fasted state, followed by pure monosaccharide, glucose for instance, I'd say you can expect absorption within minutes
Almost got abs, just a few more paragraphs
