Introduction

Welcome to D2JSP H&F's very own fitness challenge! The idea is simple: you have twenty-four weeks to achieve your short-term (health and fitness) goals. You will be competing for an FG prize at two points of this contest: the first being halfway through (roughly around Spring Break) and the second being at the end (roughly around Summer Break). Of course, you do not have to compete for the FG to participate! You may very well participate just for the sake of working to your goals along with others! Let's go over all the information you need to know.

Entry Information

If you've seen the last iteration of this challenge, you already have a basic idea what entry will be like. However, this time it is much simpler. To enter, simply make a post according to the following outline:

D2JSP Name: (the account you log into D2JSP with)
Height: (in inches or centimeters)
Weight: (in pounds or kilograms)
Body Fat%: (as accurate as you can get; feel free to get an educated estimate from people around these forums)
Goals: (what do you aim to achieve in 12 weeks and in 24 weeks?)

And of course, pictures! Please take pictures of yourself from the FRONT, SIDE, and BACK (three total). Then, use Microsoft Paint or the image-editor of your choice and place each image in the appropriate position. Please crop out things we don't need to see, like your entire room.

Important Note: The FRONT picture must clearly show your D2JSP name on an index card, a post-it, etc.

Rules Information

There is only one rule for this entire challenge: don't cheat yourself or others. If you post pictures that are proven to not really be you, you are disqualified for the FG prize. If you slack off on your exercise or diets for a month, come back the next day working your way back into the groove. This challenge is more about you getting your health and fitness closer to where you want it, if not exactly where you want it, in the near future rather than the far future.

Chat Information

You may chat about whatever you want in this post as long as it pertains to the challenge or other health/fitness related topics.

Prize/Dates/Other Information

Mediator: Snuffelupecus
Current FG Pot: 0 (there is a starting pot, but the FG must be double checked for before I release the starting amount)
Feel free to donate FG to the pot! FG from the pot is given out at two points in the challenge: once after the 12th week, and again after the 24th week. The FG prize given at the halfway mark is 50% of whatever is currently in the pot. The FG prize given at the ending of the challenge is 100% of what is in the pot at that point. The winner is selected via a week-long vote. All challengers who are interested in the prize will be asked to post up-to-date stats/pictures. People will vote on who has made the most progress. The winner will receive the FG prize for that vote. If there is a tie, the prize will be divided among winners.

Starting Date: Friday, January 1, 2010.
Halfway Date: Friday, March 26, 2010.
Ending Date: Friday, June 18, 2010.
Halfway Voting Week: March 27 to April 2
Ending Voting Week: June 19 to June 25

If you've noticed, the challenge officially starts as soon as next year starts. At the time of this post, you have a little less than three weeks before the challenge starts rolling. This is plenty of time for you to put together an entry post. This is also plenty of time for you to get into the habit of healthy eating and exercise. What does this mean? That means you should use this time to "warm-up" your mind and body for the contest. That means you should not have to spend the first few weeks (or months) of the challenge next year trying to get used to a different diet or even used to exercising regularly in the first place! Take advantage of this head-start time, hit the ground running by the time the challenge starts!

Good luck, and I hope to see you all there! Thank you for reading through this wall of text, and enjoy this (fitting) comic from xkcd!

The method of entry into the challenge is in the post you (I assume) just read. :]

Just fill it out according to your information and post it in this thread.
