I remember thinking the exact same thing as OP when Pokemon itself first came out. I can easily see this going for 5+ years, tbh, especially given that they've got ten jillion more pokemon they could add in updates, they can do special events, and they've already got a thousand other things that they can easily rip off from the original Nintendo series.
