Depends how long and how well it's supported. Second gen is supposed to come out in December. As long as they have events where you can get legendaries somewhat regularly I don't see this dieing out in the first year or two.

I see it being really hard for anyone to break into this. Maybe if Disney tries an alternative, but even then, it's hard to justify the way you can with pokemon. I can see Go lasting for ages, but can't really see any competitors who'll be anything but a punchline in a couple years.
