How does this become "What is your name?"
to me this translate as how your your name
does it directly translate to how is your name? or in this context does comment mean what?
is it that appelez-vous needs to have the vous on there even though you already had a vous?
I've learned a decent but small chunk of french, and this grammar is the first to really confuse me >.<

that indicates that we need the extra vous. I was mistaken thinking appelez was name, i believe it means to call
so what we are saying is what is it you call yourself.
