Don't really see the need to ban assault weapons or assault rifles. I don't think there have been many cases of assault rifles in mass shootings or the "perks" of an assault weapon leading to more causalities.

Can understand making it difficult to purchase an assault rifle...but that's already the case.

Aren't all guns banned from civilians in France and they just had that 130 death ISIS attack using AK's like 6 months ago?

I think you're wrong about the mass shootings being with an assault rifle.

What part of the assault weapon led to the casualties? The presence of a flash suppressor? Doubtful. The presence of a grenade launcher? Doubtful. The presence of a bayonet mount? Doubtful. The presence of a pistol grip? Doubtful....

Yes i believe we shud be able to have them if we have clear backgrounds and no like aggressive mental health probs.
Im not against assault weapons at all.

I jus feel the background checks need to be more in depth.

You are wrong.

The AR does not stand for assault rifle, and the AR-15 is not an assault rifle. To my knowledge, an assault rifle has not been used in any mass shooting in recent years

On top of this, there is a clear difference between an assault rifle and an assault weapon, and again, I can't remember a time where one of the defining factors of an assault weapon led to more casualties.

Again, I do think that assault rifles should have in depth background checks/limitations, as they could lead to very deadly circumstances.
