a friend told me recently he won't join any guilds because they're too hierarchical, and this is something i've thought about for a long time. it's awkward to have a guild for a group of your good friends but still have to place them somewhere on a descending list of implied importance.

hierarchies are valuable for some guilds like LS guilds so i'm suggesting this would be opt-in.


or don't care at all.
