i bought my house last year. i wasn't thrilled about the search, but luckily i had a good realtor. after visiting a variety of houses, we narrowed down what kind of home, size, floor plan, etc i wanted. and she knew a few neighborhoods that had them.

Always put down as much as you can.

When you have extra money pay toward the principle not the overall loan. The bank will not tell you to pay to the principal, but it will reduce years off of your mortgage.

I hear yuh, everyone I bid on a house that is livable and able for me to fix up someone comes in with cash and under bids me and gets it.... Then they dump to much money I to it and put it back on the Markey for way to much and it just sits vacant.
