I spent 4 years getting an English major. English majors do teaching, or law. I spent an additional year gaining work experience, and an additional year transitioning into a program. I spent 6 months in the program, and decided it wasn't for me.

Now I need to go spend another 2 years catching up on accounting (more school), which is what I actually want to do.

So much life getting spent away.

Prior to all this I spent a year in plumbing. That I hated too.

Sounds like you spent 4 years learning something that you can keep now.
I changed my major like 4 times before I finally graduated with Physics.
No regrets, learned a lot, and now I am not even planning on working in Physics anymore after this year

I would say if life sucks, there's a much more meaningful reason.
