I'd personally wouldnt buy a used futon, i'd buy a new one, but for a chair i'd say you could get away with getting a used one

Craigslist's "free" section is usually packed with furniture. Sometimes really good stuff if you're patient.

When the lease is up, a lot of people just throw their old shit away.

Yeah, I'll buy most any used furniture used unless it has thick padding or cushions
