My home ski field Turoa.

It's a volcano that blew its top a few times. The last time was in 1996 and we lost half the crater lake wall.

If you draw an imaginary line from both sides you can see how big the original volcano would have been before the top blew off.

Looks cool, I just don't like all the human structure, it ruins it.

This hill is a little different to most. On the side my family lives (Turoa) the mountain is unchanged as it is tapu (sacred). That means no bulldozed flat runs, weird chairlifts and only 3 buildings on the hill (2 cafes and a 6 seater chairlift building). For people like me that ride park there natural cliff drops and walls and hits everywhere.

The otherside got resource consent before the tapu status was granted to build huts on the slopes on the other side so there are many buildings everywhere and I think it wrecks the whole thing.
